  1. Brilliant shot Lawrence – I could lose myself in this one for a while. The light to the right really lifts the image, Akuri and Sora make it your own.

My eye keeps catching an artefact on the far right just below the horizon which slightly distracts.

Will you be considering this for the Horizons Project? There might not be enough negative space but it deserves to sit somewhere – definitely one of my favourites this year I think.

  2. Lawrence, This is stunning. It has that sweeping feel and the blue, creates a very cold and melancholic mood. One of my favourites this year too. Wonderful. K

  3. Gorgeous. You saved your best shot of the year until the end. :-)

  4. Ignore a portion of my comment earlier Lawrence – I was rushing out! – this is perfect for Horizons.

  5. Funny – i totally didn’t expect that overwhelmingly positive response. Thanks guys. Ben – will email you tonight on our other topic. St

  6. I love this shot.. I have something similar from a pbaser in Scotland.. totally different location, obviuosly. He printed it out for me because the scene is so lovely… this gives me the same sense of silence and solitude. I love how deep the blue is – like I’ve come across someone’s secret place.

I’m surprised you didn’t expect an overwhelmingly positive response… silly you ;)

  7. very beautiful: light, athmosphere, composition… the only thing that I think that could have improved the photo to make it perfect is one step back of the subject, in order there was a ine of water between the head and the land above. but anyway, it’s great.
