Seattle Streets

By lawrence • Feb 4th, 2010 • Category: Daily Shots

I met an Irish photographer in Seattle the other day who happens to live here. He was carrying his treasuerd Leica which he was obviously happy with. We talked briefly and he made the comment that was the best place in the world to do street photography. I was surprised. Compared to the places I’ve been I find Seattle to be fairly run of the mill. It’s a wonderful city to live, with close access to the mountains, sea, etc – but for true street photographer, it doesn’t come close to Paris, Tokyo, New York, many cities in Asia, etc. Nonetheless, every few weeks I go out and try to prove myself wrong – thinking that it’s me whose missing the point. Here are two shots from the weekend. The first was a fairly interesting scene – the second is one that’s unfortunately all too familiar.

  1. These are awesome Lawrence. My fave is #2. It is a strong image.

  2. I like the 2nd too – there are different areas to look at and my eye does tend to wander back to the poster on the left. Good Work.

I like the 1st one – i have tried getting shots like the 1st one but i am never completely happy with them.
