Familiar Faces (Pentax 67ii Edition)
By lawrence • Feb 6th, 2010 • Category: Daily ShotsThe last images I’ll share from the first two rolls of film I shot with the Pentax 67ii last weekend (and have been posting this week). It turned out to be a great coulpe of rolls – with a usable hit rate of about 80% from just 20 shots. Normally I hover around 3 – 4 shots out of 12 (for 6×6 MF) or 8 – 12 shots for a 35mm roll of 36 shots – so this was substantially higher. Will be interesting to see if I get anything like that this weekend.

These are all excellent images Lawrence. Congrats on that fantastic rate of success.
Looking forward to see more.
Lovely, Lovely. All of them have that something special, and express the strengths of the 67 exceptionally well. Definitely the camera for you, and I do hope that long may your hit rate not just stay that high but increase eben more!…great work Lawrence. K
The top image is my favourite of the bunch. The angle is unique and creative. And your wife’s reflection in the window makes it even more special for me (I am reminded of a similar composition I posted here some time ago: http://www.lostinfocus.org/?p=1317).
I like all three as well. The reverie of the first two really suits that dreamy depth of field; the second one especially seems to drift in and out of focus; their is a hazy, nostalgic feeling to it for me.
The alertness and the stern (or perhaps quizzical?) look in the third photo is great! Dogs are the most dignified-looking animals in photographs and paintings I can think of.
The refection on the first one adds that extra something I really like. The window sill cutting from top to bottom excellently divides the photo up very well. Proportional it feels right to me. Both photos are definitely down my street. The 3rd brings a small to my face. What a dignified look.
