Banner Days
By scott • Feb 18th, 2010 • Category: Daily ShotsI decided to take Lawrence up on his request for someone to create a new banner for Lost in Focus. Actually, I chose to create 16 different banners — using a photograph from each of the 16 LIF contributors — with the thinking that an “auto-rotate” function could be applied to the HTML coding so that every time someone lands on the LIF homepage, they will be greeted by 1 of 16 different banners. I hope that everyone likes what I have created, using (of course) each of your outstanding photography. Just as an aside, I want to comment how much I enjoyed going back through the archives and looking at everyone’s work while searching for images to use in the banner designs. The amount of talent and creativity here at LIF is truly exciting.
**UPDATE** I was so inspired by many of the recent additions to LIF, that I made a few more banners for inclusion. See attached. And as more photos roll-in that are appropriate for the (rather abnormal) panoramic crop, I’ll continue to manufacture more banners so that the collection gets larger and more and more banners (featuring everyone’s work) will be seen by visitors.

Thank you for the warm feedback — I am glad people seem to be happy with the design/execution. Hopefully its not too difficult to program a “randomizer” or “auto-rotate” function into the HTML coding of the site, Lawrence. Looking forward to seeing the banners up whenever you get the chance.

Thank you for programming the HTML code for this, Lawrence — they look great. I have the PSD file saved on my Mac and will make some more banners (using everyone’s brilliant images) as and when appropriate ones roll in. Then I’ll send them to you for inclusion in the code so there will be even more banners to auto-rotate when people visit LIF…
