Last of the Colour
By lawrence • Mar 13th, 2010 • Category: Daily ShotsLast colour images I intend to share from my Yellowstone trip (the rest are B&W)… Shot 5 rolls of film and have what I feel like are some good keepers, so overall pleased (although overall, the hit rate was lower than with B&W).

Still not a bad hit rate Lawrence!. I think that you have at least 6 images that are stunning, and would be awesome as large format prints. For example think of these two large and mounted on aluminium at 1m by 1.15m or so. You have the “Real Estate” here to have an impact missing from a run-of-the mill camera. The detail would be amazing.
I like these both very much, but the second is an intelligent composition…and full of layers…just like I like them ;-))

Believe me when I tell you that rates mean bubkas. Your color images were phenomenal and these did not disappoint either. The second one is definitely my fave here.
The second one is my favourite of a strong pair. You’re taking the landscape genre and reinventing it.
With your considerable online presence and following Kal’s specific framing recommendations, I reckon you should set up an online print shop.
great Lawrence, both of them in their own way. The first is impressive and dramatic, the second is tender and the shallow dof makes it delicate and mysterious.
Love the DOF on the second one…like a dream. Very nice, and such a great variety of images you are showing us lately, like you are hitting an extra gear in terms of creativity.
