About this Site

Lost in Focus is a home for photographers who have outgrown the group hugging, pat-on-the-back, vote swapping photo critique sites. It’s a place where photographers are inspired to produce their greatest work, yet not afraid to post their worst.  It all started one evening when Chuck Inglefield and I discussed how we’d become tired of the photo sharing sites out there. “There must be something better”… Something that would encourage quality, experimentation and a sense of community among similarly motivated photographers. But there wasn’t. Every other place had its flaws.

“We need this”, was the conclusion.

Inspired, I then took the next steps. A community was selected – a hand picked group of five of the best photographers available on the Internet. All were intrigued, all accepted the offer of membership. Chuck Inglefield, jude McConkey, Lorin Niculae, Craig Persel, David Procter and myself formed the original group.

The project then found a name – Lost in Focus – and then a few months later, found a home here. The goal of Lost in Focus is simple – to create some of the best work you’ll find, anywhere. If you’re a reader of this site, we hope you’ll find see photography that will interest and even inspire you. Take a look at around, feel free to comment and if you feel like contributing, you can propose a submission. Membership to Lost in Focus is by invitation only but if you feel you’d be a good fit, please let me know.

Welcome to Lost in Focus.
